This paper elucidates about the separation of higher order odd Harmonics from the supply of three phase induction motor. Most of the loads in industries are motor loads, and of which 90% of the motor loads are three phase induction motors. These induction motors are driven using Variable Frequency Drive (VFD).Due to the extensive use of power electronic devices in VFD, harmonics are generated in the input voltage supplied to the three phase induction motor. The methodology used for the separation of higher order odd harmonics is Wavelet Packet Transform (WPT). Here, the fundamental Waveform is subjected to a 9-level WPT decomposition. Thus the frequencies corresponding to the odd harmonics are separated and the remaining waveform is synthesized. With the new methodology, the performance characteristics of the three phase induction motor is plotted and compared with and without filter.
